Consequences
The staff at Longfellow Elementary has the responsibility for taking appropriate actions when a student is involved in a situation which disrupts the learning environment of our school.
When determining consequences, they take the following into consideration:

- The severity of the incident
- A student's previous behaviors and/or consequences for the same or related offense.
- If the behavior interfered with the responsibility, rights, privileges, property or safety of others.
- The logical relationship between the behavior and the consequence.
- The age-appropriateness of the consequence.
- Verbal and/or non-verbal reminders or warnings.
- A reflection time for the student (i.e., teacher & student conference, time-out, or the completion of a problem solving log to be sent home to the parent).
- Office Referral (conference with an administrator).
Bullying, Harassment or Intimidation
Bullying, harassment, or intimidation are serious and will not be tolerated. Report alleged bullying, harassment, or intimidation that occurred on school property; at a school-sponsored activity or event off school property; on a school bus; or on the way to and/or from school, in the current school year.
